Remember Rohingya Muslims in Your Dua

A Rohingya Muslim going back after being denied refuge in Bangladesh.

Allah (subhanahu wa ta’la) said in the Quran:

O you who have believed, do not take as intimates those other than yourselves, for they will not spare you [any] ruin. They wish you would have hardship. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, and what their breasts conceal is greater. We have certainly made clear to you the signs, if you will use reason. [The Noble Quran 3:118]

What the hearts of the Buddhists of Myanmar have concealed, who often talk about peace, have been revealed. The Government of Myanmar have refused to acknowledge its Muslims inhabitants as citizens of Myanmar purely because of religion and started ethnic cleansing in the state of Rakhine by driving Rohingya Muslims out of their homes and killing them.

Displaced Rohingya Muslims have sought refuge in Bangladesh, the neighboring country where 85% of the population is Muslim. However, Bangladesh has denied them refuge.

In my opinion, this is one the situations which highlights the necessity of having an Islamic caliphate. I am sure there are many Muslims around the world who are looking forward to extending help, but they have been restricted and painfully forced to prefer nationalism and respect national foreign policy decisions over clearly defined religious and moral obligation.

I am not sure what we can do for the Rohingya Muslims, but the least we can do is feeling for them from our hearts and remembering them in our duas.

May Allah humiliate the transgressing disbelievers of Myanmar.
